"My girlfriend and I flew all the way from Scandinavia to witness the Sardine Run and what a marvel! Despite not seeing any proper sardine bait balls, we had an amazing time due to Rob and Debbie. 100% safe with Rob as an outstanding skipper and Debbie as our shark protector! We had a great time as they took us to swim with whales, dolphins, sharks and of course, doing our best to find the bird action. Even on days when it was completely quiet, they would bring a chum so that we could attract more sharks. A bonus which I did not expect was that both Debbie and Rob have extensive knowledge on the marine life and the culture and history of the area. We had both history and science class out at sea! Based and living in Port St. Johns, they're definitely some of the best out there to offer their services, and are interested to socialize and hang out after the long hours at sea. "My husband and I took our two girls, 11 and 7 years, out with Debbie and Dean on our very first whale-seeking trip in July during sardine run time. It was to be a birthday gift for our eldest, and what a wonderful gift it was! Dean and Debbie took great care to ensure our children were safe at all times, which was greatly appreciated by us. We saw dolphin and whales – including a breaching whale- and they were both able to knowledgably brief us on what we were seeing as well as the conditions (which luckily were fantastic!). We would also have missed the breaching whale if our hosts had been clock-watching but instead they really wanted us to have a great experience! We will, one day, be back! Thank you Debbie and Dean!" "I recently spent a week with Debbie and Rob during the Sardine run this year(2014). I could not ask for a more professional, friendly and well equipped establishment. They both made me feel right at home from the word go.
Rob is an exceptional skipper who i felt comfortable with during every launch! Rob and Debbie are both well educated when it comes to the wild life as well as the geographical surroundings.When we were waiting for action to take place on the ocean, we would be taught all the interesting facts about the marine life in the area.
I also took notice of the safety procedures that were carried out on the boat. When it came to entering the water, they did not take any chances and would only let you enter the water when they felt it was safe to do so.
Every day we had a different home cooked meal made by Debbie and her parents. There was always good food, drinks and snacks on the boat as well as some hot chocolate, tea and coffee for those cold days!
Their dive guides were entertaining, always on point and well qualified.
I can't wait to go back next year.

"We recently spent 3 days on the Sardine Run with Rob and the Offshore team and what an experience it was! Meeting Debbie and Louis the night before our first day out was great and instantly put us at ease. Rob was a fantastic skipper and was amazing at finding and putting us in the middle of the action. The knowledge of both Rob and Louis on the Sardine Run and South Africa was exceptional and kept the days interesting and fun. Highlights for us were chasing a huge pod of dolphins and watching the ‘Humpies’ breaching for 20 minutes on the first day. Came away feeling like we wanted to stay for longer and will definitely be back! Thanks Rob, Debbie and the crew from Offshore Port St John.
